Description: Portable meteorological station that monitors and provide appropriate trending data on (at a minimum) temperature, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, relative humidity, and barometric pressure.

In some cases, portable stations can now be replaced by very granular cloud-based reporting and forecasts. This functionality may be obtained by subscription (see item 04AP-11-SAAS for more information).

ImportantFeatures: Radio/remote access, including IP networking capability. Some devices may connect to a wireless adapter for remote network operation (see 04SN-01-XMIT).

Operating Considerations: Consider telemetry (greatly affected by placement, e.g. microclimates in downtown cores, in buildings, etc.), sampling rate(s), integration into modeling software.

Consider size, weight, and battery life.

Also consider integration with multiple other sensors or systems of sensors.
