Description: A device which, when attached to a remote sensor such as a video camera or chemical detector, allows wireless transmission a,d/or retransmission of data. May use radio frequency (RF) or infrared (IR) transmission.

ImportantFeatures: Compatibility with multiple sensor devices desirable.
May use wireless communications (802.11x, Bluetooth, Z-wave, ZigBee).
"Cookie Crumb" technology available

Operating Considerations: Consider security of the data stream, and susceptibility to hacking/jamming.

Carefully check effective distance and sensitivity to obstacles and weather. May require line-of-sight. Check effective data rates in marginal conditions, especially if used for live voice/video communication.

Consider whether device utilizes licensed or unlicensed radio spectrum; preference should be given to licensed radio spectrum for limited interference.
