Description: Equipment and supplies used to compost carcasses resulting from the response to a Foreign Animal Disease.

Operating Considerations: Throughout composting process, composted material must be tested and proven free of the Foreign Animal Disease before removal from site.
Operations must be overseen by a designated environment official. Determination of disease exposure status must be overseen by animal health official.
Use must be consistent with the Foreign Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Plan (FADPReP)/National Animal Health Emergency Management System (NAHEMS).

Training Requirements: NIMS credentialed Animal Emergency Responders and determination by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
