Description: Tools for maintaining and consolidating information about an organization's IT resources,including both hardware and software assets.

ImportantFeatures: Allows organizations to track devices and applications through their entire lifecycle.
Some tools may also incorporate additional functionality such as IP address management (IPAM), configuration management database (CMDB), or datacenter infrastructure management (DCIM).

Operating Considerations: Although many tools claim automated discovery, administrators should prepare to spend considerable time adding data to fully utilize the product.
Some solutions may require the use of software agents on managed hardware.

Training Requirements: Per Manufacturer's recommendations.
Initial Training: Moderate (1-2 days)
Sustainment Training: Minimal (<1 day)
