Description: Scanner, flatbed or portable, for converting documents, images, etc. to one or more computer-storable formats.

ImportantFeatures: USB connection capability desirable.
Network compatibility desirable.
Optical character recognition is available in some products.
Selectable resolution. Usual range is 300 to 1200DPI. Lower DPI is useful for minimizing output file size, but scanner should be capable of 1200DPI.

Operating Considerations: May want RF capability in contaminated zones, perhaps via connection to handheld device.
Consider multi-function printer or all-in-one for more flexibility in response environment, See 04HW-02-ALL1.
