Description: Personnel tracking and accountability systems for use in an operations area, including both administrative tracking systems and precision locating and tracking systems. This functionality may also be obtainable via subscription as a cloud-based service, as opposed to purchasing software. However, special security considerations apply for data stored remotely. See 04AP-11-SAAS for further information.

ImportantFeatures: For precision tracking, can be 2-D or 3-D.

Operating Considerations: Training may be required for operators.
Scalable from local through wide areas.
Consider capacity limitations (e.g. total personnel tracked or geographic area).
Precision location is an emerging technology.
Consider range/penetration, ease of set-up.
Consider communications method from devices to control system (Local or wide-area).
Wide-area communications require data communications service to transmit remote location data to the managing application/system (either privately built and maintained system or leased service).
Consider location identification modes (offset references from fixed location versus use of building floor plan overlay).
Consider whether system is capable of integration with mesh networking techology.
