Description: Alert and notification equipment that allows for real-time dissemination of information and intelligence among responders via equipment such as cellular phones, pagers, text messaging, etc.

This functionality may also be obtainable via subscription as a cloud-based service using a web browser interface or a mobile app, as opposed to local software. However, special security considerations apply for data stored remotely. See 04AP-11-SAAS for further information.

ImportantFeatures: May be standalone or interface with civilian notification systems, or may be incorporated into civilian notification system.
CAP compliance highly desirable.

Operating Considerations: Should be capable of being activated from multiple redundant locations, with redundant transmission modes and power supplies.
Consider privacy and confidentiality.
Consider interface with other communications systems such as CAD, as well as fusion center systems and event-based systems such as facial recognition.
Should have some methodology for delivery confirmation / confirmation.
Consider ability for local/regional activation interface.
Consider additional OM costs.
