Description:
Devices that enable assessment of patient temperature (all routes, including oral, axillary, tympanic, and rectal).
ImportantFeatures:
All devices and carrying cases should be impervious to infectious fluids. Devices should be easy to use with minimal training, and offer large display features.
Operating Considerations:
Consider disposable adjuncts that contact patient surfaces/fluids.
Consider devices built-in as features to other medical devices (EKG monitors, etc.).
Consider hypothermia measurement capabilities.
Should use commercial over the counter batteries, otherwise see Section 10 for information regarding generators, batteries, alternate power, etc.
Disposable items may require replacement during protracted incident.
