Description: Services to ensure priority communication over common carrier media, such as cellular phones or telephone land lines. Includes Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS), NCS Telecommunications Service Priority (TSP) Program, and NCS Wireless Priority Services (WPS).

ImportantFeatures: Some services, such as GETS, are free to public safety participants.

Operating Considerations: Consider use of FirstNet services in lieu of priority services.
If priority services are used, ensure that potential users register as quickly as possible - REGISTRATION MUST BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO INCIDENT.
Some services may have special access instructions, which should be carried by users to ensure they are available when needed.
Note that services are still dependent on end-user's ability to get service (dial tone). Without a signal or an available line/channel, the priority service cannot be accessed.
