Description: Satellite communication device, fixed location.

ImportantFeatures: Operation similar to cell phone. Used in a fixed location.
Some systems have 'dispatch' or push-to-talk (PTT) capabilities (e.g. one-to-many).

Operating Considerations: Consider cost(s) of service.
Line of sight to satellite (outside antenna) required.
Consider data versus voice (or both) needs. Data throughput generally very slow for this type of device, and can cause many Internet applications to time out.
Consider long-range planning of service provider/systems long-term viability.
Consider ground link away from your geographical area; where it will be used versus operational requirements.
