Description: Output device for producing oversize hard-copy output such as maps and visualization graphics.

ImportantFeatures: Minimum 600 DPI, high quality would be 1200 DPI or higher.
B/W or color.
Large format.
USB connectivity desirable.
Network/wireless compatibility desirable.

Operating Considerations: Consumables (ink supplies) can be critical and quickly consumed when printing high resolution full-page color. Consider types of output (e.g., images vs charts) and desired output media before deciding on print quality requirement.
Consider cost of consumables.
Consider speed/space requirements - plotters tend to be much slower and larger than printers.
