Description: Fixed, portable, or vehicle-mounted mobile system consisting of imaging technology and optical character recognition software capable of determining the information on license plates.

ImportantFeatures: Variety of imaging systems and recognition algorithms. May be restricted to certain plate types.

Operating Considerations: Consider ratings across multiple tag types (specialty tags, states, countries). Also check day/night performance.

When placing units or using mobile units, consider lighting, angles, and possible blockage from accessories or towed apparatus. Any whitelist/blacklist databases must be current in order to avoid false positives or false negatives.

Consider compatibilty / integration capability with other software and systems, such as artificial intelligence analysis software.
