IED/EOD protective ensemble intended to protect the head and torso from explosive fragmentation and flame. Includes ballistic helmet, ballistic face shield, and ballistic vest.

standard identifies protection classifications as Type I, IIA, II, IIIA, III and IV. These protection classifications cover threats from hand guns to rifles, including armor piercing rounds. Manufacturer instructions related to the care of the outer shell vest (carrier) must be followed.
