Description:
Outer disposable gloves for contamination protection (certified as compliant with
ANSI
American National Standards Institute
/ISEA 105).
ImportantFeatures:
Gloves may use a variety of different materials, are provided in different lengths and sizes, and may include other features such as grip finishes and cuff-end designs. Typical outer disposable gloves for
NFPA
National Fire Protection Association
1994 and other ensembles are heavy rubber gloves that offer some additional permeation and physical hazard resistance.
Operating Considerations:
Unsupported gloves should be used which provide a performance level of 2 for cut, puncture and abrasion resistance when tested and classified in accordance with
ANSI
American National Standards Institute
/ISEA 105. Supported gloves should be avoided as fabric inserts will absorb chemicals and other hazardous substances.
These gloves should also be free from holes as required when tested and classified in accordance with
ANSI
American National Standards Institute
/ISEA 105. Gloves should be sized to fit over existing ensemble glove system with minimum bulk to prevent loss of hand function. If rugged physical environment is involved, work gloves should be used in lieu of disposable outer gloves. Use gloves in accordance with OSHA 29
CFR
Code of Federal Regulations
1910.138.
