Title: System, Compressed Breathing Air Quality Testing

Description: A system for testing the quality of compressed breathing air used to fill cylinders for air-supplying respirators.

ImportantFeatures: The system may be fixed equipment, sampling equipment, or kits that measure the quality of compressed breathing air used for filling cylinders. Air quality measurements include the proportions of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and argon, as well as contaminants such as particulates and hydrocarbons.

Operating Considerations: The system must allow the determination of the air quality in accordance with the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134. Compressed breathing air shall meet at least the requirements for Grade D breathing air described in ANSI /Compressed Gas Association Commodity Specification for Air, G-7.1-1989, or higher standards such as NFPA 1989.

Training Requirements: Core Training: NFPA 1989, NFPA 1404, OSHA 1910.134, ANSI Z88.2 /CGA G-7.1, Manufacturer Certification Required.
Initial Training: Moderate (1-2 days)
Sustainment Training: Moderate (1-2 days)
